Meanwhile, the USA President’s godson Robert Thorn is informed in the maternity in Rome by Father Spiletto that his wife Katherine has just lost her baby and she had troubles with her uterus and would not have another pregnancy. Spiletto suggests Robert that another just born child that lost her mother could be the substituted for his son, and Robert accepts the child and gives the name of Damien. Robert is promoted to ambassador in London after a tragic accident. When Damien’s nanny commits suicide in his birthday party, a substitute, Mrs. Baylock, comes to work and live with the family. Along the years, Katherine realizes that Damien is evil, while Robert is contacted by Father Brennan, who tells him that Damien is the son of devil. When the priest dies in a bizarre accident, the photographer Keith Jennings shows evidences to Robert that the boy is the Antichrist. They travel to the town of Megiddo to learn how the boy can be stopped.

Imbolc, crows, and interesting events. Meaning?
Since Friday of last week, I’ve had a few interesting things happen. Friday afternoon, I was walking home from work through the park. A crow was perched in the tree off the pathway, and when I was past the crow, it had to have been a good few feet, he flew off the tree and swooped over my head, then flew back to the tree. He came so close to my head that I thought he was going to attack me! I didn’t have anything in my hair, either.

My cat also went into heat on Friday, and I could tell it was going to happen before it even did. My boyfriend didn’t think she was going into heat, and well, within 10 minutes of me saying so, she went into heat.

Sunday my cat was acting very strange. My boyfriend’s mother was over, and my cat is usually very shy, even when in heat. She never crawls into my boyfriend’s mom’s lap. Sunday my cat was rubbing herself all over his mom’s coat, and all over her pants. I’ve never seen her do this.

Sunday’s horoscope was interesting, too. Here’s what it said :
There could be an unusual event that you experience at home today, Gemini. It is certainly possible that this could be the type of experience whose meaning or cause won’t be understood until later. The emphasis is on interpretation today, and sometime one thing is a symbol for another or an omen for an event yet to come. Write down anything out of the ordinary that you observe, especially odd animal behavior, and see if you can make a connection between this event and a change that could be coming in your life.

Now today while walking home in the park, a bunch of crows–by bunch I mean at least 20–were sitting in the tree tops(not in the same spot as the other crow) and there was a pigeon on the ground who would not move. I went over to him, and he blinked at me but didn’t fly away. When he eventually took off, three or four crows would attack him until he fell to the ground. They would not touch him when he was on the ground. I tried to help, but every time I tried, the pigeon would start to fly away, get attacked and then stay down. Eventually, he flew into a spot that I could not go.

Do you think any of this has any meaning? Sorry for the long explanation! I’m just thinking that with Imbolc tomorrow, and the recent full moon, that maybe I am just not cluing into something. Thanks for you ideas

If it means anything, I don’t think Imbolg and the Full Moon have much to do with it, since these are regularly recurring events. Interpret as you may, maybe do a divination to clarify.
Actual Answer | Feb 01, 2010

Usually crows swoop down on a person if they are too close to the nest. The cat probably smelled something on the coat that made her feel good so wanted the scent on her. Horoscopes in the paper are normally meaningless and have a 50/50 chance of coming true, that is why they put a disclaimer on them. As for the other crows, the bird was probably hurt and being scavengers they will attack in groups a sick or injured bird, even one of their own kind.

Why do you have to be 21?
Why do you have to be 21 to adopt a horse from New Vocations?? I’m 18, which is legally an adult… what, do you get a free bottle of vodka with the horse or something? It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. I know a lot of 18-year-olds that are much more responsible/stable financially than some of the 21-year-olds I know.

They said that I can fill it out again using my parent’s information, but my mom said she doesn’t want to do that. So I guess that I’m just fucked and I’m not going to be able to adopt Hushaby Honey, which I think is the best horse I have found yet.

Why do they have that age limit? Why not 18??? Maybe I should go find some hobo off the street to let me use his name. But then again he wouldn’t pass the minimum requirement for annual income lol.
I don’t know what she is thinking… I think she just doesn’t want to be involved, period.

How tragic! Now you can’t buy your own horse? Whatever will you do?
hibbo_j | Feb 05, 2010

thats dumb and its horrible that now you wont be able to adopt a horse. You would think a horse adoption thing would let 18 year olds adopt. Maybe try to talk your mom into it. If not, will your dad sign. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, older siblings?? try asking around family, see if anyone will sign
alyssa | Feb 05, 2010

It’s to protect the horse. Most 18yr olds are not established enough to carry the kind of responsibility. Sure, some 18yr olds are more stable than some 21 yr olds, or even 35 yr olds for that matter; however, there has to be a threshold that is upheld, or they would have to treat each case individually, which doesn’t make any sense.

You’ll be glad this rule is in place someday. Delayed gratification builds character…
Carl W | Feb 05, 2010

Do you have an aunt or uncle or someone? Would your trainer sign for you?

What are the requirements and why doesn’t your mom want to do it? Is it like a cosigner where, if YOU don’t pay, their credit goes down?
Cassie | Feb 05, 2010

This "talk your mom into it" is exactly the reason (one of them at least, there are more) By the time you’re 21, there is a better chance of having a regular job, perhaps a degree, reliable vehicles and no "having to ask mom". Buck up, you’ll be there soon enough and when you look back you’ll be amazed at how much you’ve changed between 18 to 21, and realize that they were correct in withholding adoptions. It’s seems unfair now, but their main goal is the safety and security of the horse and the horse alone, remember that.
redhead2boot | Feb 05, 2010

Meagan, how about I adopt you and you can use my details???? ROTFL
foxhunter1949 | Feb 05, 2010

To adopt from this place, you agree to certain conditions….in other words, you make a contract with them…21 is the legal age to make and sign a contract, period. There are good reasons for that, and many have already been mentioned here in the other answers. If you are close enough, you might like to donate some time to this organization and who knows, in the process, find one that is even better suited for you and your needs. 18 may be a legal adult for some things, but not this.
Bobbi | Feb 05, 2010

Do you have an Aunt or Uncle or something that will let you use there name? That sad. I don’t see what’s wrong with 18.
Tango & Amber | Feb 05, 2010

What are the chances that you could get a secured loan without a co-signer? It isn’t just about your age. I’d guess that even if you were 21, you might not meet the criteria without a co-signer making a financial committment. The chances of most 18 year olds, and even many 21 year olds, being financially independent to the degree that they could afford to support both themselves and a horse are slim. If your mom doesn’t want to sign for any financial committments, then that sends a clear message. I think "adult" in this circumstance has to do with financial security and ability to afford the care and maintenance of the horses the organization places. I know it’s disappointing, but if you think about it, isn’t that in the best interest of these horses who have already often been abandoned or abused before they came to the rescue facility?
gallop | Feb 05, 2010

They probably set that age limit because many 18 year olds are still in high school, or are in college, still living off of their parents’ incomes, etc. I really don’t know, rules never make that much sense.

I would just ask your trainer, or family friend, or another family member, to use their information.
Yohanson | Feb 05, 2010

It’s the same way at the KyEHC. Which sucks, since they can get some really nice horses, and their max adoption fee is 500 dollars. The good ones always go fast, though.
But they all get evaluated by a vet, and someone determines their potential…

I wonder if it’s because a lot of eighteen year olds head off to college, and they don’t care/have time for their horses anymore? It’s just stupid.

But why doesn’t your mom want to use her information to adopt the horse? What’s the problem?
Ehawlz | Feb 05, 2010

Do I honestly have potential to be a good writer? One with published works, etc. Do I show any positive aspect?
Do I show potential to one day be a writer?
My first, hopefully decent piece. I just sometimes get afraid I cannot make it. This is what I loveee to do. It’s all I have. Im a naturally anxiety-stricken person (diagnosed and medicated). For other writers out there, do you ver get a writer’s block or feel as if you can’t think of the most fitting word, thus making you feel discouraged and feel as if you’ll never be able to flow with ease? I feel this way, and believe my vocabulary and technique of expression is weak and inferior to others. I feel like a bad writer and that I’ll never attain such a sought-after blessing.

He walks with his head facing the ground beneath him. Still unknowing of his destination, he continues onward, paying no mind to what is left behind, or what awaits ahead. Legs trembling with fatigue, he tries to remain balanced, but collapses to the unforgiving floor. He cannot help but to care less, for he has become what he had never expected, a broken soul.
Sluggishly pulling himself to his feet, he finally regains his prior stance. He decides to rest, leaning his dirty and torn, tattered back against the rugged brick structure. Taking notice of the recent sunrise, he gazes into the bright, illuminating light, disregarding the heavy burning absorbed by his his lifeless stare. In the far distance, his eyes focus on the only fellow beings within his line of sight, a family of three, consisting of a seemingly happy
couple, pushing a small, teal-colored stroller. His eyes wander away instantaneously, concentrating on the first object he could make out. Eyes, again, aimed at the floor, he feels a violent rush of anxiety, desperation, and hate, overwhelming him in only seconds.
He finds himself back on the asphalt, burying his emotions even further into the endless and cracked abyss that was once his heart. All that he used to hold so lovingly to him, is and has been gone for so long. Yet this span of time is not nearly enough for him to let go and forget. An eternity couldn’t heal the shell of a man he has turned into. Moving forward forward is not an option, and stepping backwards is an impossibility.
There was, of course, a time when he was full of content, and while he didn’t possess all he neccessarily wanted, he undoubtedly held everything he needed.
Years have slipped on by, far past his now nonexistant concern. He simply doesn’t care anymore, as rarely any thoughts or ideas manage to enter his mind. He bars everything from access, except for the instinct to keep on walking.
Overflowing with hurt and regret, he cannot contain his distress, and breaks into rigorous sob. After a timeless fit of agonizing bawling, the man lifts his head, revealing worn and jaded eyes, to the slender and petite figure hovering above him.
He rubs his eyes clean of tears and can see her, a curious and evidently concerned young woman, looking down at him. Her expression changes as she persists in staring at him, and she appears to be the pitiful mirror image of himself. His dread doesn’t cease to affect her, and she kneels to his side. She mutters a faint, "Sir"?, as she rests an establishing hand on his dungy shoulder. His eyes lock into her’s, into the back of her retinas, unmoving, until she asks, "Sir? Sir please, I want to help you. Please, can you at least try to tell me what happened? Sir?"
The last time anybody besides an officer has addressed him is inconceivable. He takes this into thorough consideration, before displaying an extinct smile, one that he didn’t even know he was still capable of.
And, so it begins…

Try taking creative writing classes in a community college, or at least an online course. You have a long way to go to clean up your style. Ideas are ok, but grammatical style is very important (unless you’re James Joyce). Bad writing will get between the reader and the story you want to tell.

Second faulty ipod, I just want my money back?
Anyone with experience with this please answer, as I’m unsure what to do. I bought a refurb ipod touch 2g, within two months it was freezing constantly. Apple sent me a new one with no problems, which I’m very thankful for. My second one is now doing the same as the first - although to be honest it’s even worse. I can’t play music any more. I’m done with Apple now, I just want my money back so I can get a different MP3 player. It’s way under a year old, so what’s the best way to go to get my money back? i bought it online and in the UK. Thankyou for any help or advice you can offer
Yep I bought it on the Apple website

Advice on finishing out home audio system…?
I recently came across a great deal and purchased:

One - self powered 18" sub (jbl jrx118sp)
Two - dual 15" reinforced mid/low (jbl jrx125)

I still need an amp, and am considering the following to power the twin 125’s (unless someone has a better suggestion)

QSC 2450
or
EP 2500

I wanted to also know the best way to hook up the audio to my newer model Imac (which has 30K songs). I was thinking that there was a way to hook up the firewire 800 or 400 for a better signal, if not maybe only usb?

imac –> sub –> amp –> 125 speakers? or is more needed?

Additionally any info about what xlr cables to use, any additional equipment, ect. would be helpful.

I am new at this any any links are appreciated. I am going to use this in the main part of my house in the country (2K sq ft with loft/game room) to listen to music. No portable dj stuff.

(Also I am trying to stay well below 1K for the rest of the purchases combined if possible)

–Thanks in advance to the knowledgeable audiophiles who answer this…

Either amp will work great - I own two Behringer ep2500’s and both have been rock solid. If you can afford the qsc, that is a better amp.

You really should consider some type of DJ mixer or maybe a home stereo preamp (more expensive). A simple DJ mixer would help you with EQ and controlling volume on multiple inputs. It would also have XLR outputs to connect to the amps and sub which have XLR inputs. It is nice to have a physical volume control on any sound system instead of relying on a software volume control.

The imac will not have an XLR output, it will have a 3.5mm headphone output so that would be tricky.

This is a pro club type mixer that would work great in your situation:

http://www.zzounds.com/item–NUMC2

All you would need is a simple 3.5mm to RCA cable to connect your mac to the mixer:

http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/extraps/35rc a.jpg

To connect the mixer to the amp and sub, all you need are three XLR cables:

Did Barack Obama ever have to Work a Day in his Life?
It sure would explain a lot, as he doesnt understand the value of Money.

He also falls back on "Its all Bush’s fault, what I do is all Bush’s fault somehow" (CNN says this every hour, so it seems, they are The Obama Glee Club, only real news is Fox News they are not afraid of Obamanocchio) and then we go to the double double-standards:

1) Democrats = Racism is OK, Accepted, and wins Elections. Republicans = Its the Evil White man, must be all Bush’s fault.. (Obama, Rev. Wright, Sotomayor, and Aides ALl have Race Issues. "No Black Child Ever Did a Columbine," "Above your Pay Grade," etc, etc, etc.)

2) It is OK to HATE Bush.and Wish DEATH on him. And BAD MOUTH him. This is "OK," it seems.. Now, either say ONE BAD THING or use SAME CRITICISMS against Obama: See #1, you are either 1) Racist, 2) Unpatriotic (Obama wouldnt wear the Pin, supports PALESTINE, more there,) or 3) ??? Not down with "Change" or the "Mark of the BEAST!" (The Democratic Party Logo.)

Thoughts? O.o
Ugly: Read Wizard of Oz’s statement. Sounds liek another self-serving Ugly Fact, since he gave us self-created since there was NO WAY to verify since he sealed it all.

Next…

No — Obama was a community organizer who taught people how to avoid work & obtain and spend as much government money as possible.

When Obama was only a Junior Senator he only showed up for work 143 days and even then he he just voted " Present " over 160 times

The bottom line is that Obama has never worked even when he did show up for work

Most of the economic problem is fallout from Bush’s policies. You know it’s the truth.

We saw the effects even before Obama was in office, even today.

CNN never says good things about Obama, that shows how distorted your political view is. FOX always bashes any democrat with a name they know how to spell. They are too biased.

Now, how about you? is this question the farthest you go towards working for your political values?
hiztreebuff | Jan 31, 2010

honestly i am not all that well informed in this political battle due to the fact i’m tired of hearing how adults are acting like kids on a school yard playground. with all of the energy they have to point the fingers at each other they should use that to better our country. i don’t care if it’s a Democrat or Republican running our country as long as they do a good job and get it done right.
if the politicians knew what it’s like to stretch a dollar just to make ends meet (i’m not talking about weekly, i mean daily) then they would hang up their expensive suits, put on some real working clothes and see how the average citizen has to live.
